Using eight Bookeye® 4 V2 scanners to digitize over 50,000 pages per day, the Delhi Archives has embarked on a massive preservation project with the goal of protecting and making national heritage documents available to the public.
Over 50 lakh (5 million) pages of archival records, which have been digitized over the past 16 months, will be made online within a month by the Delhi government. The digitized records will be available on the website of the Delhi Archives. The Delhi Archives is a repository of over 10 crore (over 100,000,000) rare documents including Mughal firmans (imperial orders), maps, land acquisition award statements, jail records, manuscripts and government orders narrating the historical and political journey of Delhi since 1803.
